 Artist’s Statement

Art does not reproduce the visible; it makes visible.”  Paul Klee.

The quote above, by the great German/Swiss artist Klee, sums up my approach to art in a few, brief words.  My work is concerned with personal interpretations and expressions rather than imitations or mimesis. It is about ‘making visible’ and the endless possibilities that this allows. An artwork, to me, seems to have a life of its own and I am happy to let it take me in the direction it wants to go.
